Artificial Intelligence vs. Machine Learning: What's the Difference?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same thing. AI refers to the creation of machines or systems that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as perception, reasoning, learning, and decision-making. On the other hand, ML is a subset of AI that focuses on the development of algorithms and statistical models that enable machines to learn and make predictions from data.

Deep Learning (DL) is a subset of ML that involves the use of artificial neural networks (ANNs) to learn and make predictions from large datasets. ANNs are modeled after the structure of the human brain and consist of layers of interconnected nodes that process and transmit information. DL has proven to be extremely effective in areas such as image and speech recognition, natural language processing, and robotics.

To summarize, AI is the overarching field of study that seeks to create intelligent machines, while ML is a specific technique used to enable machines to learn from data. DL is a subset of ML that uses artificial neural networks to learn and make predictions from large datasets. While AI, ML, and DL are related concepts, they are distinct in their approaches and applications.
